Commercial Residential Property Liability.
Georgia Property Liability Attorneys.
Although Premises Liability can entail many situations,
the most common accident is that of a slip and fall
injury requiring a premises liability lawyer. This can
occur when walks are not shoveled during the winter,
when carpet is not installed correctly, etc.
Other types of premises liability include injuries from:
- Toxic mold
- Toxic chemicals
- Lead poisoning
- Defective, inadequate or inoperative lighting
- Defective or improperly maintained equipment
- Failure to warn regarding hazardous conditions
- Failure to warn regarding guard dogs on the property
- Dog attacks
- Poorly maintained landscaping, overgrown underbrush,
fallen trees
- Slippery and wet conditions
- Poorly maintained walkways (stairs, sidewalks)
- Poorly maintained parking lots (pot holes, culverts,
ditches)
- And much more
Georgia law requires that owners of property maintain
their property in a reasonably safe condition. Georgia
law recognizes a cause of action where a person is
injured as a result of a dangerous condition on the
property that the owner knew or should have known to be
dangerous.
Georgia law states that when an owner or occupier of
land, by express or implied invitation, induces or leads
others to come upon his premises for any lawful purpose,
he is liable in damages to such persons for injuries
caused by his failure to exercise ordinary care in
keeping the premises and approaches safe.
